30th Anniversary Tour

Out of the blue I was asked to create a 30th birthday poster for a person’s daughter. They wanted it to be in the style of a simplistic concert poster. After we concepted on the idea, I created this poster of the birthday girl sitting in a boat with her two labs fishing, and have all the copy be connected to the lines underneath the water. I’m really proud of this. It’s simple, yet very impact-full. I hope I can do more posters like this in the future.

Rainbow Album

Poster remix. Here is a redo of a poster I created a while back ago. I made it a little more abstract and had it pop off the page against the black background.

Black Pink Pop

Just finished another art poster. I’m a huge fan of loose paint brushwork in art, so I decided to make a piece based on it. Hope you like. I have it for sale at http://society6.com/JohnJurik/Black-Pink-Pop_Print

Here is a drawing I did using my Wacom Tablet. It’s the first one I’ve done directly on the computer.

ROXMAS 6 Poster

Nothing says Merry Christmas like a dead Santa. This is the poster I created for my good friend Derek’s Christmas Rock Concert called ROXMAS 6. I just liked this thought of someone burying santa in the middle of the night, in the snow. I made the guy a businessman to represent the killing of the true meaning of Christmas by corporations, but in reality, I just liked it was a guy in a suit. Anyway, enjoy.

Old Paper Art 1

This is the first in a series I’m doing for an art swap with a friend of mine. She’s really into origami and using paper, so I wanted to do some sketches on some old book paper. Luckily I had an old copy of Treasure Island that I bought a while ago.
